The best restaurant in Joshua Tree isn’t in Joshua Tree

La Copine

Drive North on Old Woman Springs Road and you will find La Copine located in an area called Flamingo Heights.

The owners move to the desert was not planned but after spending time in the area they decided to relocate from LA and open a restaurant in an abandoned roadside diner.

According to VOGUE magazine, La Copine features “ big plates bursting with seasonal, sustainable farm-fresh Southern California fare like roasted beets with tangerine, tarragon, and chévre—or baby kale with butternut squash, avocado, sunflower seeds, and lemon”

La Copine is closed during most of the summer and only open for lunch Thursday to Sunday. Make a reservation by texting the number on their website.

A lovely black and white celestial wall mural graces the interior of the restaurant.
