Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree National Park
The most “otherworldly” national park in the United States. For first timers, I recommend going through the iconic West Entrance. Once you enter the park, there is no cell service but grab a map and navigate like the olden days.
Featured Trail: Boy Scout Trail
Don’t let the 16 mile roundtrip length intimidate you from enjoying this trail. Inside the park, this trailhead is very close to the West Entrance, never crowded, and always has parking. Take a watch and set your own timer. I love to do this at the end of a long day in the park for 30 min and then turn around. Level, flat, easy to navigate and plenty of boulders along the way. This trail offers no shade so bring a hat and avoid hiking in summer months.
